Transrail liveried Class 37 No.37240 makes a very rare appearance in the South West on Satruday 10th May 2025. The loco was operating 0Z77 10:58 Bristol Temple Meads - Plymouth having detached from the rear of the 'The South Devon Explorer' charter at Bristol. The loco then followed D1015 to Plymouth where it re-joined the train to assist with top and tail movements on the South Devon Railway.

Making a very rare appearance in the South West, Class 37 No.37240 passes Creech St Michael running light engine between Bristol Temple Meads and Plymouth on the 10th May 2025. The loco was operating 0Z77 10:58 Bristol Temple Meads - Plymouth in connection with Vintage Trains 'South Devon Explorer' charter. The loco had been restored by Neil Boden and recently purchased by Vintage Trains. Its appearance in Taunton may be over 20 years since it last visited.

Vintage Trains Class 37 No.37240 (wearing early privatization Transrail livery runs light engine over Whiteball running as the 0Z77 11:58 Bristol Temple Meads to Plymouth on Saturday 10th May 2025. The Class 37 was in the west country in a supporting role to ‘The South Devon Explorer’ railtour following No. D1015 'Western Champion', and assisting with ‘top and tail movements. The return leg of the tour from Plymouth to Birmingham would visit Buckfastleigh on the South Devon Railway requiring the assistance of 37240 to drag the train back to the main line at Totnes before continuing the journey north back to the Midlands.
