11th July 2024 LNER A4 Pacific Class 4-6-2 No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' gets under-way from Taunton with the 1Z94 05:35 Milton Keynes to Plymouth ‘Golden Hind charter on Thursday 11th July 2024. The initial leg of the tour was worked by LSL Class 47 No. 47593 'Galloway Princess' in ‘top and tail’ configuration with classmate No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot'. The A4 replaced 47593 'Galloway Princess' at Taunton taking leading onwards to Plymouth and over the Devon Banks. The return run was hampered due to a points failure at Laira preventing the train to be turned resulting in the tour being dragged backwards by No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' as far as Taunton.
