2nd February 2024 Making a rare appearance at Taunton on the 2nd February 2024. GWR 'Castle' HST set formed of No. 43188 'Newport Castle' leading No. 43186 'Taunton Castle' arrives into Platform 2 at Taunton operating 1G77 15:50 Penzance - Gloucester. The set operated between Plymouth and Taunton owing to the original failure of GWR Hitachi IET 802022. Upon arrival at Taunton passengers were transferred to waiting nine-car IET No.800307.
