9th March 2013 On the 9th March 2013, Mendip Rail Class 59 locomotives were back in use on weekend engineering trains for Network Rail. Hanson-liveried No. 59103 'Village of Mells' is pictured in top and tail formation with No. 59002 'Alan J Day' operating 7W28 14:22 Westbury - Hemerdon engineers. The pair were formed either end of a mixed JNA wagon rake along with Volker Rail Crane 78213. After an almighty downpour 59103 'Village of Mells' is seen passing 40 Steps taking the relief line to be looped for a passenger service. (Photo: Brian Garrett)
