30th October 2021 Colas Rail has begun to use recently acquired ex-LNER / EMR Class 43 HST power cars on Network Rail test trains. On Saturday 30th October 2021 the PLPR1 Test Train with branded powercars No.43274 and No.43272 are captured at Cat Hill Farm crossing working 1Q40 00:25 Exeter Riverside to Derby RTC via Okehampton. Having positioned down to Exeter the previous evening the test train performed three return trips over the Okehampton branch during the early hours of Saturday morning before returning north in a slightly delayed path.
