15th June 2002 Virgin Trains Celebrity liveried Class 47/8 No.47829 passes Creech St Michael on 15th June 2002 hauling the 1V37 06:08 Preston - Paignton service on a Summer Saturday heading for the Devon Riviera. The locomotive was painted by Virgin in conjunction with the British Transport Police and in a familiar style to the way British Rail painted a Class 37 for an advert in the 1980's. Becuase of Virgins routes the striking livery was seen all over the UK and had a surprising effect on joe public who saw it! (Photo: Brian Garrett)
