The snowy scene in Fairwater Yard taken from Staplegrove Road on the 3rd March shows Freightliner Class 66's No.66598 and No.66555 staled in the yard along with snow laden HOBC sets and untouched virgin snow from the original snow fall on the 1st March.

Having completed it's duties on the West Somerset Railway LNER A3 Pacific No. 60103 'Flying Scotsman' 'Flying Scotsman' returned to Southall in the company of LMS steam locomotive No. 46100 'Royal Scot' 'Royal Scot' (Royal Scott had previously been positioned on the WSR to work the Royal Duchy charter into Cornwall, which never happened becuase of paperwork issues). No. 60103 'Flying Scotsman' & No. 46100 'Royal Scot' plus their respective support coaches are pictured passing Taunton School working back to Southall WCR as the 5Z72 09:38 from Bishops Lydeard on Wednesday 13th September 2017.

21st March 1970
We turn back the clock to provide a superb image from 1970. This shot (taken from the ground of Taunton School) on the 21st March 1970 and shows Taunton West Junction Signal Box with a Class 119 DMU (51080+51097) passing working a Taunton - Minehead stopping service. Adjacent is a Class 42 'Warship' No.D813 which had been held on the Taunton 'avoider' hauling the 7C30 09:10 Stoke Gifford - Exeter Riverside mixed fright.
