Freightliner Powerhaul liveried Class 66/5 No. 66528 'Madge Elliot MBE Borders Railway Opening 2015' passes Oath on the 14th January 2018 while working the 6Y15 08:15 Reading West Junction - Fairwater Yard. The locomotive was returning the Network Rail HOBC set to Taunton after overnight ballast cleaning on the Great Western Mainline. On the rear of the set (out of sight) was Class 66 No. 66501 'Japan 2001'.

Weekend engineering work in Devon saw a selection of engineers trains returning to Westbury on Sunday 14th January. Class 70 No.70814 leads the 6C31 07:40 Hemerdon - Westbury east bound through Oath with classmate No.70809 trailing on the rear.

DB Cargo Class 66 No.66192 hauls the 6C97 07:58 Pilning - Westbury over the Somerset Levels at Oath after reversal at Taunton's Fairwater Yard on Sunday 7th January 2018.

On Sunday 7th January 2018, DB Cargo Class 66 No.66034 makes its way back to Westbury with the 6C22 06:00 Bristol East Junction - Westbury via Fairwater Yard with a train load of spent ballast in various Network Rail JNA/MLA wagons. The location is Oath on the Somerset levels.

Engineering work in Devon over the weekend of 6th/7th January 2018 produced a number of interesting workings through the Taunton area. On Sunday 7th, DB Cargo Class 66 No.66061 & Colas Rail Freight Class 70 No. 70808 worked in 'top and tail' formation with Colas crew operating as the 6C23 08:24 Exeter St.Davids - Westbury. The location is Oath on the Somerset Levels.

27th December 2017
Planned engineering blockades in connection with overhead electrification work,and crossrail construction between Reading and Paddington saw a revised timetable in operation over the Christmas and New Year Period. On the 27th December no trains operated into or out of London Paddington. Some HST services were diverted to arrive at London Marylebone, while others terminated short at Reading for onward road transport. One such altered service was the 1A78 06:45 Penzance - Reading (which would normally run through to London Paddington). Heritage liveried powercar No. 43185 'Great Western' leads No.43176 across the Somerset Levels near Oath in glorious sunlight, having called at Taunton ten minutes beforehand. The set returned west later that day working the 1C82 12:20 Reading to Penzance service.

30th September 2017
Pathfinder Tours operated 'The Torbay and Darmouth Explorer' charter on the 30th September 2017. DB Cargo provided a Class 67 for the tip to Kingswear still wearing tatty EWS livery. No.67030 speeds across the Somerset Levels at Oath with the 1Z27 06:15 Reading to Kingswear.

23rd September 2017
BR (Southern) 'Merchant Navy' Class 4-6-2 No. 35028 'Clan Line' crosses the Somerset Levels enroute to the Capital on Saturday 23rd September 2017. The tour was re-dated from May 27th and only passed Taunton in one direction, having worked to Exeter via the Southern Route. The 'Atlantic Coast Express' passes Oath, the 1Z65 16:31 Exeter St.Davids to London Victoria.

BR Large Logo Class 50 No. 50049 'Defiance' & No. 50007 'Hercules' head back across the Somerset levels at Oath hauling the returning Pathfinder Tours 'Torbay and Dart Exploerer' charter to Burton on Trent operating as the 1Z52 16:15 Kingswear to Burton-on-Trent on the 16th September 2016.

24th May 2017
The 24th May 2017 provided a rare double headed Colas Class 70 working in the South West all be it a rescue mission with Class 70 No.70809 leading brand new Class 70/8 No.70814. The locomotive failed at Exeter Riverside on the 23rd May with an air compressor fault. With the locomotive unable to build air to release the brakes the train was cancelled. The next day Colas sent No.70809 to Exeter to tow the 7C28 Exeter Riverside - Westbury stone empties back to Wiltshire. The pair are seen rolling through the Somerset Levels, with Colas Rail Freight continuing to provide cover for non available crew at DB Cargo.

Having run round in Fairwater Yard, Taunton. Class 66/5 No.66520 powers the 6Y56 13:03 North Somerset Jn - Westbury via Fairwater Yard along the Somerset Levels towards Westbury with its rake of empty mixed engineers wagons in tow in top and tail formation on the 17th April 2017.
