Freightliner Class 66/5 No.66531 arrives into Taunton on Friday 18th May 2018 returning from Westbury hauling the as required 6C73 12:12 Westbury - Fairwater Yard hauling freshly loaded ballast for inclusion within the Network Rail TRT set, which later departed from Fairwater Yard for overnight track renewals.

Freightliner Class 66/5 No.66555 storms through Coglooad Juncton on Wednesday 28th February 2018 hauling the empty HOBC portion to Westbury for loadeding with fresh ballast. The 6C84 09:20 Fairwater Yard - Westbury passes Cogload.

In wonderful winter light and cloudless blue skies Freightliner class 66 No.66511 arrives into Fairwater Yard passing 40 Steps on Sunday 25th February 2018 hauling the 6Y15 11:03 Filton West Junction to Fairwater Yard, returning the Network Rail HOBC set back to base after overnight ballast cleaning.

11th February 2018
With heavy rain and sleet showers having passed through the Taunton area, Freightliner Class 66/9 No.66953 leads the Network Rail TRT back through Creech St Michael having spent the night on the Great Western Mainline renewing track. The 6X04 09:00 Didcot East junction - Fairwater Yard was hauled by No.66953 & No.66511 in Top and Tail formation.

Freightliner Class 66/5 No.66559 arrives into Fairwater Yard on the 1st February 2018 while hauling teh 6C73 12:12 Westbury - Fairwater Yard loaded ballast/ HOBC set portion.

DRS Class 37/6 No.37606 and No.37605 shunt a snow plough back into the southern headshunt in Fairwater Yard having completed a test run to Exeter Riverside and back on Wednesday 20th September.

12th February 2017
Returning to Fairwater Yard on a freezing cold morning on 12th February 2017, Freightliner Heavy Haul Class 66/5 No. 66552 'Maltby Raider' passes Creech St Michael while working the Network Rail System 5 set on the 6Y37 08:40 Swindon East Loop to Fairwater Yard. Classmate Class 66/9 No.66953 accompanied the train on the rear of the set. The service departed Swindon running 83 minutes early but was held in the Chippenham area eventually arriving back into Taunton around eight minutes behind it's original booked arrival time.

30th April 2015
Having been allowed to run round it's train at Newton Abbot instead of Plymouth, Freightliner Class 66/5 No.66547 stands on the down relief adjacent to Fairwater Yard having arrived 155 minutes early with the 6Y97 05:20 Newton Abbot to Eastleigh Yard, via Plymouth. The train is pictured waiting a relief driver to book on and take the train forward to Eastleigh on Monday 30th April 2018. 17th November 1985
On the 17th November 1985 Class 47 No.47157 (which at the time had been transferred to Cardiff Canton from Eastfield Depot, in Scotland) is seen shunting with Driver Mike Stone stood in the door of the locomotive. Mike was a Taunton based driver until he transferred to Exeter when Taunton closed.

22nd June 1981
Ruston PWM No.97652 is seen in Fairwater Yard (and was often based here) stabled inbetween shunting duties in the yard. This image was taken on the 22nd June 1981. The popular yellow shunter was a often seen shunting in various Taunton Yards.
